Born April 5,1973. Pharrell Williams is an American recording artist, producer, musician and fashion designer. Pharrell plays the drums, piano, guitar and keyboard. He has a vocal range of a countertenor; which is a male singing voice and range equivalent to an alto range extending from G to A3 to E5 or G5. Pharrell's musical style is not of the norm some may say. People have said that he can not rap or sing but if they had to choose, his singing is better then his rapping. Some have said that his lyrics are "typically inconsequential in a "saying S* just to sound cool, sort of way". But his choruses/hooks are very strong. But what I respect is that he sees music as art. Music is the freedom of expression, that's why many artists like Pharrell are not direct influences but I do have a fondness for their creativity.

Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam (born July 18, 1975) better known as M.I.A is a British songwriter, producer, singer, fashion designer, and artist. M.I.A's political lyricism and artwork, her music style said to be "Other", and infusing various genres is what you call the new generation of music. A graduate from the London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design with a degree in fine art, film and video earns her the title as a multi-talented artist. M.I.A's first start in music was with a Roland MC-505 sequencing drum machine. With just a second-hand 4-track tape machine , a 505, and a radio microphone, she was able to create six songs onto a demo tape. A mix of dancehall, jungle, electro and world music, Showbiz Records pressed 500 copies of the independant vinyl single "Galang" in 2003.
